520 _aFans of the first edition will be pleased to know that the second edition is mostly an update, not a com plete rewrite. The programming examples have been updated, obviously, to reflect the changes that have occurred in the nearly ten years that have passed since the first edition was written. Examples that were almost entirely in C and C++ are now in C++, Java, and C#-although the language hardly matters in most cases, as algorithms generally only require minor syntactical changes to switch from one language to another. All the examples are easily understandable to an experienced programmer.
